In April 2026, residential customers in Maine paid an average of 28.42¢ per kilowatthour, up 1.1% on the same month a year earlier (28.11¢). The US average for the month was 18.83¢; Maine was 51% above that. It ranked 6th highest among the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Residential sales were 431,849 MWh, up 8.0% on a year earlier, and the average residential bill for the month was $161.91 on 570 kWh. Weather moves monthly sales far more than prices do, so bills swing with the season.
