In January 2025, residential customers in Ohio paid an average of 15.62¢ per kilowatthour, up 1.0% on the same month a year earlier (15.47¢). The US average for the month was 15.94¢; Ohio was about the same as that. It ranked 18th highest among the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Residential sales were 5,878,574 MWh, up 10.1% on a year earlier, and the average residential bill for the month was $180.58 on 1,156 kWh. Weather moves monthly sales far more than prices do, so bills swing with the season.
