In August 2025, residential customers in Ohio paid an average of 17.59¢ per kilowatthour, up 11.8% on the same month a year earlier (15.73¢). The US average for the month was 17.61¢; Ohio was about the same as that. It ranked 18th highest among the 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Residential sales were 5,224,587 MWh, down 4.3% on a year earlier, and the average residential bill for the month was $180.30 on 1,025 kWh. Weather moves monthly sales far more than prices do, so bills swing with the season.
