In December 2025, residential customers in Ohio paid an average of 17.31¢ per kilowatthour, up 9.0% on the same month a year earlier (15.88¢). The US average for the month was 17.24¢; Ohio was about the same as that. It ranked 17th highest among the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Residential sales were 5,121,329 MWh, up 6.0% on a year earlier, and the average residential bill for the month was $173.17 on 1,001 kWh. Weather moves monthly sales far more than prices do, so bills swing with the season.
