In April 2025, residential customers in Maine paid an average of 28.11¢ per kilowatthour, up 30.8% on the same month a year earlier (21.49¢). The US average for the month was 17.55¢; Maine was 60% above that. It ranked 6th highest among the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Residential sales were 399,822 MWh, down 7.3% on a year earlier, and the average residential bill for the month was $148.86 on 530 kWh. Weather moves monthly sales far more than prices do, so bills swing with the season.
