In March 2025, residential customers in Maine paid an average of 28.26¢ per kilowatthour, up 18.5% on the same month a year earlier (23.84¢). The US average for the month was 17.09¢; Maine was 65% above that. It ranked 6th highest among the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Residential sales were 461,126 MWh, up 5.9% on a year earlier, and the average residential bill for the month was $176.89 on 626 kWh. Weather moves monthly sales far more than prices do, so bills swing with the season.
