In February 2025, residential customers in Maine paid an average of 26.25¢ per kilowatthour, up 5.8% on the same month a year earlier (24.80¢). The US average for the month was 16.43¢; Maine was 60% above that. It ranked 6th highest among the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Residential sales were 501,065 MWh, up 5.5% on a year earlier, and the average residential bill for the month was $175.29 on 668 kWh. Weather moves monthly sales far more than prices do, so bills swing with the season.
