In June 2025, residential customers in Maine paid an average of 28.14¢ per kilowatthour, up 25.6% on the same month a year earlier (22.40¢). The US average for the month was 17.47¢; Maine was 61% above that. It ranked 4th highest among the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Residential sales were 331,301 MWh, down 7.2% on a year earlier, and the average residential bill for the month was $122.90 on 437 kWh. Weather moves monthly sales far more than prices do, so bills swing with the season.
