In July 2025, residential customers in Maine paid an average of 27.98¢ per kilowatthour, up 20.9% on the same month a year earlier (23.15¢). The US average for the month was 17.45¢; Maine was 60% above that. It ranked 4th highest among the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Residential sales were 385,791 MWh, down 6.3% on a year earlier, and the average residential bill for the month was $142.11 on 508 kWh. Weather moves monthly sales far more than prices do, so bills swing with the season.
