In June 2026, residential customers in Maine paid an average of 29.59¢ per kilowatthour, up 5.2% on the same month a year earlier (28.14¢). The US average for the month was 18.34¢; Maine was 61% above that. It ranked 4th highest among the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Residential sales were 339,392 MWh, up 2.4% on a year earlier, and the average residential bill for the month was $131.41 on 444 kWh. Weather moves monthly sales far more than prices do, so bills swing with the season.
