In April 2026, residential customers in Ohio paid an average of 19.49¢ per kilowatthour, up 19.4% on the same month a year earlier (16.32¢). The US average for the month was 18.83¢; Ohio was 3.5% above that. It ranked 17th highest among the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Residential sales were 3,293,861 MWh, down 3.1% on a year earlier, and the average residential bill for the month was $125.23 on 642 kWh. Weather moves monthly sales far more than prices do, so bills swing with the season.
