In May 2026, residential customers in Ohio paid an average of 19.52¢ per kilowatthour, up 14.2% on the same month a year earlier (17.09¢). The US average for the month was 18.44¢; Ohio was 5.9% above that. It ranked 18th highest among the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Residential sales were 3,458,162 MWh, up 3.9% on a year earlier, and the average residential bill for the month was $131.81 on 675 kWh. Weather moves monthly sales far more than prices do, so bills swing with the season.
