In February 2025, residential customers in Texas paid an average of 14.88¢ per kilowatthour, up 2.8% on the same month a year earlier (14.48¢). The US average for the month was 16.43¢; Texas was 9.4% below that. It ranked 24th highest among the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Residential sales were 13,166,461 MWh, up 15.5% on a year earlier, and the average residential bill for the month was $156.14 on 1,049 kWh. Weather moves monthly sales far more than prices do, so bills swing with the season.
