In July 2026, the latest month EIA has published, the residential average was 15.88¢, up 3.4% on July 2025; the US figure for the month was 18.31¢. Monthly figures are preliminary until EIA finalises the year.

140 respondents reported residential customers in Texas on the full Form EIA-861 for 2024, and 61 smaller utilities filed the short form, which has no residential breakdown. Retail power marketers account for 56.1% of the residential customers reported.
