In July 2026, the latest month EIA has published, the residential average was 23.05¢, up 12.2% on July 2025; the US figure for the month was 18.31¢. Monthly figures are preliminary until EIA finalises the year.
30 respondents reported residential customers in Michigan on the full Form EIA-861 for 2024, and 27 smaller utilities filed the short form, which has no residential breakdown. Investor-owned utilities account for 88.8% of the residential customers reported.
