In July 2025, residential customers in New York paid an average of 26.22¢ per kilowatthour, up 4.5% on the same month a year earlier (25.09¢). The US average for the month was 17.45¢; New York was 50% above that. It ranked 7th highest among the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Residential sales were 6,223,612 MWh, up 3.6% on a year earlier, and the average residential bill for the month was $218.95 on 835 kWh. Weather moves monthly sales far more than prices do, so bills swing with the season.
