In February 2025, residential customers in Virginia paid an average of 14.22¢ per kilowatthour, up 3.0% on the same month a year earlier (13.80¢). The US average for the month was 16.43¢; Virginia was 13% below that. It ranked 32nd highest among the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Residential sales were 4,409,868 MWh, up 10.8% on a year earlier, and the average residential bill for the month was $170.94 on 1,202 kWh. Weather moves monthly sales far more than prices do, so bills swing with the season.
