In July 2026, the latest month EIA has published, the residential average was 28.83¢, up 5.6% on July 2025; the US figure for the month was 18.31¢. Monthly figures are preliminary until EIA finalises the year.
10 respondents reported residential customers in Alaska on the full Form EIA-861 for 2024, and 55 smaller utilities filed the short form, which has no residential breakdown. Electric cooperatives account for 89.9% of the residential customers reported.
