In July 2026, the latest month EIA has published, the residential average was 19.22¢, up 11.6% on July 2025; the US figure for the month was 18.31¢. Monthly figures are preliminary until EIA finalises the year.
79 respondents reported residential customers in Illinois on the full Form EIA-861 for 2024, and 47 smaller utilities filed the short form, which has no residential breakdown. Investor-owned utilities account for 73.6% of the residential customers reported.
